Marketing Terms To Know In 2021, Number 1
Bounce Rate
Bounce Rate sounds like it has connection to something complicated. Nope! It refers, quite literally, to ‘bouncing’.
Play along for a moment – You’ve completely re-done your artist web site. You want people to see it! A week after launching your site you have a look to some statistics. You’re curious about how many people enjoyed certain pages.
Come to find, there’s only visits to your home page and this number of ‘bounce rate’ is super high. That’s no good! It means people swung by, took one glance, and bounced.
How To Fix?
Review once more what has been successful for your site in the past and reconfigure your layout to be a mix of new material, and other, older material which has proved to draw interest in the past. If you do this right, the bounce rate drops, people are indicating they’re sticking around more and now you know that much more about what interests your audience.
Bounce Rate Matters For Social Media
Ergh, social media! What is it they want now?!?!?!
Well, they’ve always wanted you to hang around their ‘platform’ as long as possible. Why? Advertising money, The longer you hang around, the more is understood about your buying habits and this data is sold for big, big bucks. You can turn this to your advantage, though! Somewhat.
By understanding that bounce rate is a factor into how various algorithms show favor towards how far your posts extend (more people see it), you can post more interesting content and ditch the boring stuff! All while increasing your audience with the aid of major social media platforms.
